Foodies Festival

For anyone who takes their food seriously, this year Syon Park in Islesworth will play host to a festival that’s a glorious celebration of culinary excellence. One of the last great houses, Syon Park is a classic, historic location, with expansive grounds that are some of the most impressive anywhere in the country. The Foodies Festival 2024 is scheduled from the 25th to 27th May and the lineup of live music includes Sister Sledge, Blue and Symphonic Ibiza. But, for most, the food is the real draw. With masterclasses from Michelin-starred chefs, sweet treats crafted by Bake Off winners and The Drinks Theatre providing the very best in champagne and wine, this promises to be the perfect way to celebrate spring. Highly recommended.

Boating on the Serpentine

The UK has a rich and distinguished maritime history and one of the best ways to enjoy spring in London is to take to the water! An impressive, relaxing and memorable option is to grab yourself a row-boat or pedalo and head out on the Serpentine from Hyde Park. Perhaps the most famous boating spot in London, this is the perfect place to usher in spring and really get the most from this remarkable destination. Hyde Park, of course, offers a range of leisure activities that’ll help you to make the most of your day - including everything from cycling, horse-riding, tennis and open water swimming - but cruising through the park on your own vessel? A truly unique experience.

Lift 109 at Battersea Power Station

The bringing back to life of Battersea Power Station has been a great victory for Nine Elms, just one aspect of a hugely successful regeneration project. This iconic Grade II listed building is now a thriving retail and restaurant hub, whilst providing some of the most cosmopolitan living spaces anywhere in the city. Meanwhile, Lift 109 has become a tourist attraction for the ages, with visitors flocking from all over to make the mind-blowing, 109-metre ascent to the top of the north-west chimney. From this unique vantage point, the views across the city skyline are simply astounding. Rivalling the top of the Empire State Building or even the Eiffel Tower, this is a joyous ride not to be missed!

Mamma Mia!

Perhaps the most beloved musical of the last few decades, Mamma Mia is back and the 2024 run promises to be better than ever. Showcasing at the legendary Novello Theatre, this, once again, is a night of celebration quite unlike any other. Having thrilled audiences around the world, ABBA’s classic songs continue to bring people together and the party is set to continue. And, of course, the inclusion of excellent cocktails, plus fine dining only makes the show more memorable. A glorious extravaganza of songs we all know and love, superbly executed comedy and a cast of genuinely compelling characters means this remains a classic for the ages.

The Tide

The Tide in North Greenwich is London’s first-ever elevated riverside linear park and features public art installations by legendary artists, including Damien Hirst and Allen Jones. It also has wonderfully landscaped trails for running, walking and spaces specifically designed for meditation and yoga. Along the way, great food and drink outlets make this the perfect spot to relax or exercise beside the river and do so in genuine style. The Tide is now officially open to everyone, and at over 5 km in length, it’s a wonderful addition to the capital. A remarkable and fascinating new destination, this is well worth checking out.
